Firefox 1.5 Arrives

Wednesday, November 30, 2005

The long wait is over and 1.5 version of Firefox has arrived. I was like a child waiting for santa all day checking every hour to see if the update was available. Finally about 12am 30th November it was available.

I've installed it and used it and have to say I noticed a definite speed increase (not that I found previous versions slow).

If you want it it's available from http://www.mozilla.com

Something to smile at

Thursday, November 10, 2005

Did we mention that we're in the process of launching a sister company, PushON? Well, we are. The focus of PushOn will be to deliver Online Marketing services. we felt it was a clearer proposition to focus on the marketing and return on investment that it generates. Anyhow, one of our first clients is a Cosmetic Private Dental Practice in Alderley Edge. The job itself was a retrofit of an existing website. We worked with the existing offline marketer to deliver a little something that worked brilliantly with their ongoing campaign but was also built ot web standards and would work superbly with the major search engines. We were chuffed with the results.

ADSL2+ Faster? or not?

Thursday, November 03, 2005

ADSL2+ is being touted as the next generation Internet connection and claims people could be enjoying speeds of up to 24mb. To benefit from 24mb connection speeds forcast it's thought that you'll probably need to either live right on top of your local exchange or certainly within 400 meters of it. It's also thought that 8mb is going to be more that sufficient for most consumers and will be adequate for the proposed broadband TV and other bandwidth draining applications.

There's been a flury of broadband related news stories on the BBC technology site of late:
