Firefox 1.5 Beta 1For those of you who are avid Mozilla Firefox fans (We certainly are) you've probably heard the name "deer park" banded about for some time now. Deer park is the "work in progress", next big release of the browser we've all come to love and it's available as a beta release Firefox 1.5 Beta 1

So if you can't wait for official stable releases or you just want to check out what new things are on the horizon there's a beta version available to download now.

Jeeves
Search engine Icon "Jeeves" is to be given his P45 because the search engine believe he causes "user confusion" as to what he represents.

There's no confusion here, surely he represents the "Jeeves" part of their name?

Presumably this means they'll be ditching that part of their name and will become know as "Ask"

Google have released Google Blog Search Beta.

It's basically a dedicated search engine for Blogs and includes results from all blogs, not just Blogger. Well, that is to say it includes all Blogs that publishes a site feed via either RSS or Atom.

We all know how well Google does web site search so we can only imagine that they'll be able to handle this with ease.

Does this mean we'll see Google remove Blogs from it's site search index?

Blogging From Microsoft Word

Now those lovely people at Blogger have developed a plug-in for Microsoft Word that allows you to blog directly from the Word application. This is exactly what I'm doing now.





After installing the plug-in you get an extra little menu added to Word which allows you to specify your Blogger settings and post directly to your blog from word.
